EKATE+ project launch event

In the POCTEFA France-Spain territory, the installation of photovoltaic production systems is on the rise thanks to the proliferation of self-consumption installations motivated by changes to the legal framework in both countries, which now allows for shared self-consumption. This has led to other opportunities, such as the development of renewable energy communities (RECs), which seek to empower citizens and involve them in managing their energy.

However, the creation, management and operation of RECs are complex, and specific tools and networking are needed for their deployment.

The EKATE+ project addresses the challenges of design, development and implementation through pilot projects and advanced digital technologies based on artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms, digital twins and the IoT, with a view to improving the performance of energy communities.
