The project

Following on from the EKATE project (2020–2022), six partners are continuing their studies and analyses to make progress in the management of Renewable Energy Communities.

In the POCTEFA France–Spain area, the installation of photovoltaic production systems is increasing thanks to the growing number of self-consumption facilities, encouraged by legal adjustments in both countries that make shared self-consumption possible.

Other opportunities have emerged, such as the development of Renewable Energy Communities (RECs), which aim to empower citizens and involve them in the management of their energy.

However, the creation, management and operation of RECs are complex, and specific networking tools are required.

The EKATE+ project aims to improve the management of energy communities through innovation and advanced digital technologies.

Our actions

1

Establish a knowledge network for the development and consolidation of energy communities in the POCTEFA territory.

2

Development and implementation of advanced digital technologies improving the management of photovoltaic self-consumption within renewable energy communities.

3

Development of pilot actions in the POCTEFA area to assess and validate the implementation of the technologies developed within the project.

Results

Implementation of innovative technologies in pilot shared self-consumption installations in the POCTEFA territory.

Development and dissemination of tools ensuring more efficient management of renewable energy communities.
